Figure 30 on page 119 of TM 9-8012 Shows the Cuno oil filter installed on the M38. However, it does not list the fitting types to attach the flexible lines to the filter and to the engine. What do I need to get from the hardware store to install my lines? I have the correct lines, but no fittings.

Go to the M38 Parts Manual ORD 9 SNL G-740 page 46. If you don't own this manual then download it free on our downloads page.

Under section 0106.6 - Oil Lines, Level Gage, and Oil Pan
Using the Ordnance part numbers listed in the first column to the left of the part description column:

137405 - Connector, flared tube, inverted, brass, 1/4" tube to 1/8" pipe
Goes on the oil filter inlet line port.

444038 - Elbow, pipe, brass 90 degree extended 1/8"
oil filter inlet line to block and oil filter outlet port elbow

7372557 - Fitting, oil timing gear jet

Thanks Wes. You can always be counted on. I have the TM 9-1804B, the ORD 9 SNL G-740, and the ORD 9 SNL G-758 references, and Ryan Miller's book. Do you have any recommendations for other reference material that might be of use on the M38.
