I see a posting by a new member with a 52 M38 ser# 59697 My 52 is # 59148-----498 earlier! If they made 60,000 in 2 years, 5 day week, that would be 115 jeeps a day. That makes them 4 days apart. Anybody seen closer numbers? |

One of my M170's is serial # 11870. I found someone who has 11869 with the same delivery date. Since they only made 4000 to 5000 of these that is unusual. _________________ 1955 M170

Around June last year, MC-26097 was advertised for sale here in the UK.
Mine was bought in the UK, and is MC-26057 (40 numbers apart). Maybe a batch of M38's got shipped over here when the corresponding arm of service operated on the shores (mine was apparently US Air Force).
I wonder if any more of the UK-based M38's have serial numbers close to these??

I had 2 M38 that were consecutive serial numbers back in 2004. One came from New Hampshire one from Connecticut. I would have to do a search to remember the serial numbers, but maybe some of these guys remember that? Shawn |

Mine has a date of 3/52 and a serial of 059383. Hood numbers are 20908291. This was one of three my grandfather bought from the Army off of Rough and Ready island in California. Paid 800 a piece, what a steal. _________________ 52 M38
