I've got a 52 M38 with a newer body - the previous owner threw out the old one for scrap and did not reinstall all of the military gear. The newer body has no holes for things like footman loops, canopy bow brackets, pioneer kit, etc. Are there drawings available with measurements for drilling these holes? I've got lots of pics, but I'd like to be as precise as possible. Thanks a bunch!!!

Check out this photo, courtesy of Wes:

Also, there's lots of great photos in Wes's "M38 Body" album here:

A big thank you to Wes for providing all this information to get us jeep restorers out of the trouble we invariably find ourselves in! Very Happy

Owen.

Wow!!! That is great info - thank you so much. I'm grinnin' ear-to-ear. And great job, Wes! Does anyone have measurements to locate the rear bench provisions (spring, support bracket, etc)? I found an original seat and all of the original brackets, recovered the seat with new foam and canvas, and I'm now about to install the provisions, but would like to get it spot-on.

I hope to install the provision this weekend for the rear bench seat. Anyone have measurements for the pivot bracket, perhaps from the floor up and from the tail gate forward? New tires today, and new suspension tomorrow!!!

Wow! Thank you again, Wes!! That's perfect. Do you also have the same for the pioneer kit brackets? I have your pic of the right rear quarter and the pioneer kit brackets are there but no dims.

Sorry to hijack Rotorhead's post, but does anyone have the diameter of the big hole that the top bow wing bolt goes through?

Btw. that's the one shown as being 14-3/4" from the back panel in Wes's photo.

Thanks in advance,
Owen.

Thanks for the tip. Very Happy I see Beachwood Canvas do one for the bracket & footman fixing holes:
https://www.beachwoodcanvas.com/order/productdetail.cfm?prod=C1806-TMP&line=3

The large hole for the wing bolt isn't shown, but I guess you can work out the position by fitting the top bow bracket and marking though the centre hole.

Owen.
