So in an effort to learn more about my A1 and the parts that I have, I have been going through the ORD-9 to educate myself. I have a question regarding my instrument panel. On the back of the panel I found it was made by AC with an “Instrument Cluster # of 1581271” and an ORD# of 7730977. I looked through the ORD-9 and found a different AC# and ORD #under “CLUSTER, instrument, assy” for clusters used up to SN 70114 and after SN70114. So just out of curiosity I looked through the M38 ORD-9. I did find that Clusters used before SN 65042 were AC-1580553 with an ORD# 7730977 which matches mine. The Clusters used after 65042 had a different AC# and ORD#. So what am I missing here? Was there another vehicle that used the same style cluster that I can look through its ORD-9? Thanks for help.

Thanks! I completely forgot about the M-37. I cant seem to find the ORD-9 for download anywhere atleast for free. Is there a site where its free to download. Doing a few google searchs finds other TMs I can download but not the ORD 9. Thanks
You will probably notice by now that the ORD part numbers are great for finding a suitable replacement part but they often represent several different manufacturer's part number and we could get any of the different numbers when ordering parts through the supply system by Ordnance part numbers, ordinance stock numbers, federal stock numbers or national (NATO) stock numbers. If you had to have the original manufacturer's part for the application you were working on you would tag your order with "Ordered by Manufacturer's Part Number, No Substitutions" This would bypass the numerous vendor varieties on the Ordnance supply shelf and back order direct to the manufacturer. _________________ Wes K
