Really drab day in Memphis today . . . Olive Drab, that is! Finally took the leap & tried my hand at painting my '53 M38A1. While I definitely will not be quitting my day job to pursue a career in auto paint (you guys rock!!), I can at least say 'been there, done that, got the stained & messy t-shirt'. Feel like I've made it to the next milestone, now I can start bolting things back on. And you guys that noticed, no, I did not miss painting the grill, I have a replacement that will be replacing the one currently bolted on.
Can't say I'm on a par with Bob, but I'll give him credit for really inspiring me to get moving on my project.
Looks good to me, well done.
I worked in a truck rebuild shop when I was young 20+ years ago I watched those guys, highly skilled they were. So I know the feeling when you pick up the gun (having mixed the paint) and point it at you beloved resto. and you are thinking........ 'now I've seen other people do this...... it can't be that hard........ I've got NO training....... oh well .... here goes...... keep it moving............ let go of the trigger at the end........'
Congratulations on a leap of faith.
Dave.
