can some one help me out here. I want a period corect fuel can holder bracket for my restoration. I do not know what to look for with respect to different mfgs or if unmarked, construction styles. can someone post pictures of send some to me, or reference a site thanks steve

These were a common US Army Ordnance supply stock item. There may be well over a dozen manufacturers. They are also the first to go when the jeep gets rear ended along with the spare tire mounting. So in many cases even fresh surplus jeeps often did not have the factory original mountings/carriers. Willys would have secured their production needs for this item from the same manufacturer's the Army procured theirs from.

I would suggest using the search engines here, on the G503 site and the steel soldiers site to gather period correct manufacturer and identification info.
