Was proud to present the local VFW post commander in the parade.

This holiday is about honoring this great nation, the flag and those
who have endeavored to make this country great. Sadly i've noticed
it's becoming to be about the dollar. Half of the parade entries were
simply company vehicles with walkers handing out coupons for
5 bucks off an oil-change, get your septic pumped with this special
discount, etc. It just ain't right.... Crying or Very sad

Good stuff.
I have no idea what the content was like for our parade but I'm sure it was nothing different. It's was a grand one so they had everyone in there places so you really didn't get a good look at any of the entries unless you were sitting watching the parade as a spectator. We had a good turnout and variety of military vehicles that they were able to break us up into small groups and stretch our presence all along the parade. I was supposed to have a Vet assigned to ride with me but it didn't pan out. I did have my 2 youngest keep me company though. This was my 1st parade and I'll do it again. Seeing the kids on the sidelines waving was the best part for me.

Ya Wes, the a1 was a odd brown and I actually thought the same thing when it pulled in. It's a good looking 20'er and fit in the scene well, but up close its pretty ruff and its been lifted a few inches. It got a lot of lookers at the parade staging area, they all seemed mesmerize by the onboard artillery.

We did, however have a great spectator turnout for a town
of 3500 folks altho you cant tell from my fotos as they
were taken just outside the staging area before we made the
rt turn on to the main drag. All were waving flags and cheering.
I'll do it again next year, was approached by the leader of
the civil air patrol cadet drill team for possible involvement
with them. Overall it was a positive experience.

Was your parade in Orem, Brett or did you travel to SLC?

It was in Provo. Its the city immediately south of Orem so I was able to drive on over.
Wow, I knew there was a lot of folks at the parade but the website for the parade claims 300,000 spectators.

"Join us on Thursday, July 4 at 9am for the Grand Parade – the largest of its kind in the state of Utah – highlighting freedom through bands, professionally crafted floats, giant helium balloons and local and national performers. Entries will be given the unique challenge to promote patriotism among the 300,000 spectators, through music, displays, dance, and other creative and meaningful expression"
