Hello, Can anyone out there tell me if the fuel tank well pan drops in from the top side, or fits up from the underside before welding. I have a 1953 M38a1 and the PO had the rusty part of the original cut out before I obtained it. RHarris |

Hi all, still regarding the last question - M38A1 fuel tank well - can anyone explain me the purpose of the two holes drilled on it? there is a large diameter hole and another smaller diameter one.
Hints?
Thank you, have all a nice week!!!

I don't have the A1 but I'd guess one hole (big) is for the fuel tank clean out bung and the other hole (small) is a drain outlet for the well pan itself so it won't hold water. _________________ Brett

Thanks Bretto, seems to make sense. I would appreciate if someone can post a picture of the underside of an M38A1 fuel tank, showing this fuel drainage bung.
Best!
