For any of you that have used NAPA's CS 725A distributor points set in M38: did you use the lighter spring that came attached to the points or the heavier one that was loose in the box? Thanks, Sonny

Sonny, you will need to use both springs, if you run just the one sping that is attached to the points you will not have enough tension and the points will float over 1200 rpm. why the points do not come with instructions I do not know, many like myself struggled with this, and has come up on many forums. good luck with it!

Sonny, if you look closely at the distributor illustration in the TM 9-8012 page 178 you can see the two springs installed with the points. Also if you read the point installation instructions you are to set point spring pressure to 17 to 20 Oz's using a light spring scale. Too low will miss at higher RPM and too high will wipe out the point rubbing block quickly.
