I Know you can get the data plates on the dash new from www.debellajeepparts.com and you can also get them from beach wood canvas.
I also know that you can have the serial number punched in at beach wood canvas.

Mine didn't come with any tags, I would hate to pick a number only to have it be reported stolen. Thank you for the info for the dash plates.

Tim,
I gather from your request you do not have a title or the two serial plates for your jeep. If this is true then the first thing you want to do is take a look at your state's motor vehicle laws. Picking an arbitrary number from a hat is like playing Russian Rulette. Have both serial plates and using that number is fairly safe but you could still run into that number being in use already. Buying a title with both plates is reasonably safe. Some states allow you to build a vehicle from spare parts and the state will assign you a serial number. Some states will give you a registration only without a title if you can't prove original serial number. Some states will allow you to title it without the original serial number if you post a bond equal to the value of the vehicle.
