Good evening. Does anyone know where I might find the original mounting bolts for the dual action fuel pump on a M38? '52 M38, 24 volt, #65666.[/img]

Most of the vendors carry them. Call John at Midwest Military.

Avoid the repro ones. They are only very slightly longer than the original ones, and I had one snap off in the block when it bottomed out. To enhance my annoyance, I picked up an NOS pair for less $$$ than the crappy repro ones. Rolling Eyes

I have to disagree about the repro bolts. Depending on who made them will determine if they are bad or not. Simply white washing a statement that all repro parts are bad is not responsible.

Good point. Owen, which manufacturer or supplier did your long bolts come from?

They came from Jeeparts UK. I'm not having a go at that particular supplier; I've bought loads of parts from them that have been just fine. Don't know who made the bolts, but Jeeparts UK are an MD Juan dealer, so its possible they made them (I have no evidence of this though). I'm not having a go at MD Juan there either; some of their parts have worked for me just fine.

I don't recall saying all repro parts are bad; I was referring only to the fuel pump bolts. For the record, I bought one set of repro fuel pump bolts by an unknown manufacturer, and they didn't work for me. The NOS ones did work out though. I didn't want the original poster to use the repro bolts that I did, and suffer the same outcome. Apologies for any offence caused.

Maybe other members that have used repro fuel pump bolts from other vendors can respond here with their experiences?
