Hello,

I just got my first military Jeep. A 1953 M38A1. I plan to restore it to some extent, not sure yet how far I'll go. I've already learned a great deal reading through the forum.

It has an aluminum hard top, which I'd like to sell. From what I've been able to gather, it is not the standard issue Arctic top, likely a civilian model. It has aluminum doors with windows that roll up and down. The rear corner glass windows are intact, the large rear center window is Plexiglas.

Asking $900 for top and doors.

I live in Dahlonega, GA. You would need to pick it up or arrange your own shipping.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures, please PM me if you'd like to see pictures. I'll post them here once I figure it out.

Thanks

Ray

Ray,

You need to have your photo loaded to a web site. Then you can post that photo here by liking it to your post. This version of Forum software we have does not support loading directly from your computer to your post.

Here is your Mjeeps photo album:

Here's the tutorial on how to load it.

Take a look here for how to load photos to your posts here.

Very Happy Congratulation, you will get a lot of enjoyment working on you M38A1. I started my 1953 a few years ago which also came with an aluminum hardtop. I've kept a blog on the process to-date. You may find it helpful. www.53NavyJeep.com.

ratseattle,

Thanks, this will be my first rebuild. I'm looking forward to it, but also a bit apprehensive.

Mine came with an even odder motor than yours....it has a 302 out of a '79 Mustang.

I hope to eventually find a Hurricane motor.
