I have a 1953 M38A1. There are a few hole here and there that once held a purpose...most of them I've figured out. However there are two holes forward of the gear shift, on the tub, just before the fire wall.

What are these?

Thanks
Ray

Hello Ray,

Sounds like you do not have a copy of the service manual TM 9-8014 for your M38A1 yet. There are many quality photos in there that can help with your problem.

I don't see anything forward of the tranny shifter and before the firewall except the starter pedal hole and several panel bolt holes.

If you are operating without the manuals for your jeep you can certainly go to our web site's "Downloads" page and download them in PDF for free.

The floor start switch actually has three bolts, one on top, and two lower towards the gearshift. But if the switch is gone you probably have a large hole in the floor panel right there.
