I recall this being mentioned somewhere, but I cannot find the information on what thickness of the cushion goes in what holes.

I am posting some photos I took of my frame with the holes numbered. I hope I didn't miss any If I did please let me know.

thanks

Ken

Ken,

Section 1801.1 of the SNL list all the pad sizes and hardware for the body mounting... pad sizes are generally 1/8 inch rubber pad 3" x 1 1/2" in size. a couple are 1/4" and a couple are 3/16 inch...

They start from the front and work back to the rear...

There is a pad under each toe board brace, and one under each bracket the comes down from the toe board brace to the side of the frame... those are number 1 and 2 in the SNL, working back they just fall in order...

Find a rubber dealer in the yellow pages and get the bulk stuff... I can get it here cheap less than $20 for my jeep, made the pads myself...

Hope this helps...

I went into the SNL for a look. And that is what I was trying to figure out. How do I know from that where body mount no. 1 is. I don't have all the terminolgy down to pat. such as toe board. It list two different sizes for No. 1. I guess the thicker pad 3/16" goes on top of the frame and the 1/8" pad goes on the side. So you say no. 1 starts at the front. I think I have the hang of it now.

The frame assembly picture on page 270 shows some points but lables them alphabetically.

It doent' take much to confuse me.
Oh, by the way, you sent me some 1/8" pads awhile back and I ordered some 1/4" pads.

thanks

Ken

Ken,
I recall I have the sizes and locations posted on the Yahoo Group files. This photo is on my photo storage site http://mctubmounts.mypicgallery.com/

#1 body mount is the toeboard gusset mounting and two different cushions are listed. One pair for between the top of the rail and the tub and one pair for between the side of the gussett arm and the side of the rail. The cushion with the bolt hole goes on the side The cusion on the top of the rail is not bolted. I know this contradicts Hals count but then we all can't be right all the time.

If you align the data in the ORD 9 with my photo you'll see how they go.

That's the picture I was looking for Wes, Thanks. So there is no bolt for the top pad at no. 1 postion. Ok.
And no.2 position starts with the out rigger left and right and so on.
thanks

Ok I 've got it all laid out.
And Hal, you didn't send me enough 1/8" cushions. I'm short three.
If you don't have some extras I'll have to go down to Beaumont and look for a supplier.

Is this an exact sience? Will 1/4" pads work on the no. 6 position. I have some of those.

Due age tweaking and repair tweaking of the frame and tub as well as aging and composition issues with the pads the best drill is to start with stock pad thicknesses in all locations and then add thicker or reduce thickness as required to make it all fit.

Wes, you are correct, I checked my jeep and there are actually 4 pads at location 1 (No 1 Body Hold-down per the SNL)... two are under the toe board braces no bolt holes (these are the braces on the front of the tub), then tow others under the side braces off these... I made my comments early this am and was going from memory...

Ken, I have enough rubber for three or four 1/8" pads I can send them; or would you need 3/16" or 1/4"? I have all three sizes... let me know and I will get them out to you... I think I only sent the ones for the 1/8" as you said you hd the others... If you tell me this evening I can send them in the morning...

Hope this helps...

Hal all the cushions that a vendor sent me were 1/4" thick impregnated with thread.

I was going to double up on two of your 1/8 inchers and two of my 1/4 inchers to make the two 3/16 inch cushions for the toe board at no. 1 position.

If you have the 3/16" cushion I won't have to double up like I was going to. I can use those two 1/8" pieces on the rear bumber.

So here is what I will need to complete it.

I need two 3/16 inch cushions and one 1/8 inch cushion to be a complete set.
Let me know how much to send you.

I may have some 1/4" cushions left over once it is finished.

thanks

ken

OK Ken, I will get those in the mail in the AM...

BTW 1/8 + 1/4 would make 3/8 not 3/16...

If those body mounts are only supposed to be 1/8 and 3/16, the body mount kit I ordered isnt going to work. Those pads are 3/4 and 1/2 Mad

Ryan, look in the SNL Section 1801... it gives all the pad sizes and locations for all the hardware...

If you need some rubber let me know, I can get it here in OKC fairly cheap. All three sizes...

Are you coming over to the Bristow show on Saturday? If so I can get you the rubber tomorrow and have it at the show, let me know...

Hope this helps...

Ken,
You should go to my photo site and all your answers are there.
http://mctubmounts.mypicgallery.com/

The curved OD brace with the large hole in it is the "Toe board gusset" and the area of the front floor where your toes would rest is the "Toe board".
