Replying to a wanted post reminded me I needed to ask if there were any TWO's or other documentation or instances where an M38 was retrofitted with the dash grab handle from the A1?
The reason I ask is when I remove that Bubba roll bar welded to the cowl and reinstall the windshield, as stated here on another post inclination for anyone climbing in will be to grab the windshield for leverage. That dash bar would help.

My 1952 M38 had a grab handle on the passenger side of the windshield. It is one of the gas tank filler neck protectors. It was on it when I bought the jeep so don't know if it was a military add-on or not. The only thing is that it will not allow a gun such as a Garand to fit in the rifle holder (a carbine works just fine).

Any handle found on the M38 dash was put there long after the jeep left Willys. The location of the M38's glove box precludes mounting a long enough grab bar on that side to be useful. _________________ Wes K

It makes the jeep so wonderful looking. Just like that gross pipe growing out of the cowl. There were no grab bar MWO's, TB's or ORD's for the M38.
There is a service bulletin to allow for converting the windshield to two panes of glass using the M38A1 gasket and divider. _________________ Wes K
