The first ORD 9 parts books for the M38 was published November 1951 and only covered the early non-waterproof bell housing, starter and many other early features. The next update was not until September 1955. How did the Army deal with the lack of a parts book until 1955 that did not include many of the common parts on the later production M38's?
Thanks Wes. But I have never seen an interim change and they don't rate mention in manual listings in the ORD references. There aren't any mention of any Changes either for the ORD 9 although I have seen them for the maintenance manuals.
The supply side of the house kept books differently. I have also seen no changes or errata sheets on any of the ORD pubs. Doesn't mean they weren't there. Just means however they were maintained they did not find the same exit door as the basic ORD pubs.
Some of the services held manuals tighter to their chest than others. Proper destruction of technical manuals was a gospel thing in the Air Force. Very little survives today of the Air Force TO's. _________________ Wes K
