Hi Rick,
I could not find the length in Ord 740.
My throttle cable was too long when I purchased it. I shortened it using photos of installed cables as well as fitting it to the dash and carburetor
clamp and the throttle lever assembly.
My total length for the wire is 26" from the end of the wire or core to the end of the T-handle, pushed in all the way.
Total length for the conduit is 22-1/2" from the end of the conduit to the end of the T-handle pushed in all the way.
Again, I am using a civvy carburetor. Wes and others may weigh in and tell us if the measurements for the factory military carb are different.
Unless yours are substantially shorter than mine, I'd wait until reassembly to determine if what you have will work. If it is too long you can cut it to length.

I suggest you cut it to length after you install it. The clamp that holds the choke cable sleeve also holds the throttle cable sleeve and the cable itself should get another half inch more from where the stop screw on the linkage holds the cable in place. Measuring could be hazardous because there is lots of opportunity for error.
