M38A1 Paint texture

Started priming and painting some parts of the Jeep and had a quick question, when it was sprayed on in 1955 did it have a smoth high glossy texture or was it a bit rough or matted?

Thanks

Looks nice! \

I need to completely rebuild mine as well but lack the welding and metal working expiriance or tools. Anyone know of anybody who sells them pre fabbed? Already got the bottom from MWM and checked the other major sellers.

Thanks,
Chris

ID this info/data plate?

Anyone know what this plate if for?

It is located on the dash right of the data plate, under the grab bar.

Also, just to verify, given your expirience with stencils does this match my assessment, of a Unit ID of 135GP-F

Thanks for you input, patent plate looks nice and clean, now on to the dash data plates.

Update on some numbers I found around the Jeep,

The dash data and patent plate both read,
MD 82542, DOD 3/55, EPM stamped with crossed cannons

Engine Serial differs, it's hard to make out until I clean it off ...
