I would test both batteries before having the starter rebuilt.

NOS parts package date

Anyone have any NOS G740 M38 parts with the original label? If so, what is the packing date? I am trying to determine when Willys-Overland began to supply spare parts to the Army. After a quick search the earliest date I have seen is 9/51. Can you beat that?

Re: M38 Body Strainer

On page 296 of the M38 ORD9 in Section 1804.1 Body Panels, Pillars, Sills, and Molding is a part listed as Strainer, body left side panel to wheelhouse, WO-673469.

Searched the forum and the interweb with no joy.

Can anybody help identify this part?

Thanks!

Is it the "r" shaped hat channel ...

TB ORD 659 does not mention the resistance value of the sending unit. I like the last paragraph "Note".

It has been so long that I don't even remember what "operational component" sending unit I tested that yielded the 30 ohm result. Strange that other M series sending units tested by JeepdaddyRC also are 30 ohm, while TB 9-2300-228-20 states they should be 40 ohms. TB 9-2300-228-20 is dated 8 July ...

I really prefer a Pollock. 2 reasons. I'd like to keep everything the same as it was when I purchased the Jeep. The more switches I have increases the chances of being able to repair one of them.

Mad-City Manufacturing Inc. does high quality work and is very knowledgable about Willys engines (and everything else Willys).
