Hi ,
I have a 1970 M38A1 cdn 3 and I need :
* crankshaft
* oil pump

I can not find a supplier that has the crankshaft.
Any suggestions ?

Hi Mike,

My jeep is a 1970 M38A1 CDN 3 and the winshield I got it as a spare when I bought her.
I think it fits previous models of M38a1 ans M38 but you would have to verify it.
I will take some pictures this weekend and post the4m.

I do not want to attach the cable to the handle on dash board rather to the one I have in between the seats.

Now, can you please tell me if for example I buy a brake drum for a CJ5, how is it different than the one from the M38A1 ? I am trying to understand why the CJ5`s drum brake is not ...

Hi,
1970 M38A1 CDN
I would like to change the hand brake drum I have now, with one of a CJ type .Also change the actuating road from the handle to the lever with a cable.
I have seen it done and it works very well, eliminating the rattle of the original brake drum.
I just do not remember which Cj (5 ...

1970 M38A1 CND 3
The front brakes are 9 in with the old style adjustment ( excentric)
The rear ones are 10 in with the self adjusting mechanism.
Question : can I convert the front brakes into self adjusting ones JUST BY ADDING THE SELF ADJUSTING MECHANISM TO THE EXISTING BRAKES and removing ...

In the manual the the specification says 45 ampshour but the supplier has different numbers when it comes to the amps( like 500 something )
There's nothing written on the old batteries except that they are Delco

There's a support ( bracket )attached by four screws, with spacers, to the rear panel , left side ( the spare is on the right side)
The can is straped on to the support.
