I went through searches on bearing cross reference and went down a rabbit hole trying to hard to find other bearing references.

Ron, I drew a lightbulb moment afterwards on the manual download for the M38al.

M38a1 and M38 same axle bearings?

Yes they are the same Timken numbers.

Front:
Cone 18590 2 at each wheel
cup 18520 2 at each wheel

Rear:
Cone 25877 1 at each wheel
Cup 25821 1 at each wheel

Seal National 13710 1 at each wheel

Hi;

I have an M38, and I found this thread about the M38A1... I believe they both have Dana 44 rear ...

took me longer to post this than the actual fabrication, but got it done. i wanted to say thanks for measurements and pics. I actually had to fabricate from scratch the front right one, and I had to replace the left frame portion as well.

one last question if you don't mind....what would be the distance from the floor to the center of bend (before it goes to seat frame? Ball park. this should give the angle....it looks like the angle is about 30 degree bend but understand it also has to ...

edit: the angle of the piece would also be appreciated as well. and if anyone has the ability to get me the measurement of the front right driver's side seat frame leg (from top of curve to floor). this is the short leg that would be on the transmission hump.

love the challenge of trying to figure ...

i am wondering what is the purpose of the bracket welded to the underside floor of the M38 near the transmission hump on the hat channel
