Guys thanks for your comments, it all makes sense to me now. I have one spring with original cup/cover and 3 rubberised ones that (I realise now) dont need the springs. I am using it as a driver so am going to go for the newer version of the dust cover.

Steering tie rod springs

I have found that I only have one spring out of 4 on the tie rods, is their purpose simply to hold down the dust cover/cup? How necessary do you think they are?

Having done a quick search here it would seem similar with the 2 extending tubes, but the top is different.
I don't know enough, but thought I would reply with only 40 minutes left on item on eBay

Vacuum tubing/hose for wipers

After Wes's observations about my incorrect hose/tubing, I have made a search on the web for the correct size. I have searched for silicon rubber tubing in imperial and metric sizes. No joy as yet. Has anyone got some ideas for me here in the UK? Thanks

This is what they do. On my jeep anyway.
As you accelerate, the distributor demands some vacuum pressure, so you lose some on the wipers. Drivers side seems to be affected first.
Makes for interesting driving on hills in the wet!

Mine does that, but that's because its a NEKAF and so is measuring Kilometers per hour, (64Kph = 40 Mph)
Just a thought!
