Thanks. The vendor sent another one. I’m just concerned that something else could have contributed to the failure, like if the carb float stuck closed would that cause pressure to build up in the pump contributing to the failure. I know newer systems have a way for the fuel to not continually be ...

Fuel pump pushing gas into oil pan?!

M38A1. Purchased a ‘new’ rebuilt dual action fuel pump from a familiar vendor to go on my newly rebuilt engine. Ran fine for a short time then died and took a lot of cranking to get it started. Thanks to all!!
Talked to Debella: he may have the parts, needs a list. Took Wes diagram and the starter back to the shop that couldn’t find the parts, they will circle needed parts and I’ll find them with at Debellas or on the web.
Thanks again.

Starter rebuild parts for autolite M38A1 late style

Does anyone know of a vendor selling rebuild kits or parts for this starter?
My local automotive electrical shop has rebuilt it once but now can’t find parts.
Thanks

Numbers stamped on F 134 head

The numbers 005 and 6.9 are stamped on the head. Ive read what they mean in the past but can’t remember. Looked through manuals, threads, Wes’album, and googled. I’m sure I’ve missed it. Could someone point me to the place it’s explained. Y: Thanks!!
