That resistor gets HOT. The bare metal clips shown in Dayboy 42's first post photo are correct. I believe that a plastic or rubber-covered clamp as show in the last photo would deteriorate quickly and pose a safety issue. Just sayin'.

In June 2012 I bought 144 "wire Marker Bands" from Saturn Surplus for $9.00. They are identical to the oem ones on my 1952 & 1953 M38-A1's.

4 years ago I bought 50 rubber grommets (Art. 06549) from UCOM Inc. (www.ucominc.com, sales@ucominc.com). They carry all of the components of the Douglas connectors. I was very satisfied with their service and their products. David

Matt, I checked 2 of my "spare" (read take-off) master cylinders. Both have a shallow indent approximately in line with the center of the filler opening. Really look like tooling marks from when the filler opening was bored out and threaded. I'd say definitely not supposed to be a through hole. That ...
