Now parting out this M170 since there was no interest in purchasing the whole vehicle. Sway bars and brackets are sold. Sway bar spring plates still available. If you need body parts, work up fast, as the body will be the first thing scrapped.

M170 - PARTING OUT

I have a 4/1955 M170 that I am going to be parting out soon unless someone wants to buy the whole thing. I am saying PARTING OUT SOON to give anyone wanting the whole Jeep a chance to get a more complete vehicle. I will consider selling whole Jeep if the price is right (minus the rear axle for sure ...

Thanks Ron, but I was a little slow to see your post. I think I found an M170 chassis locally that I can get fairly cheaply though. I'm going to call the guy today to find out for sure.

WTB: Dana 44 rear end for M38a1

Looking to buy a Dana 44 for the rear of my M38a1. Must be fairly close to Richburg SC and fairly priced also as this is going in my Army Jeep that is being sold - I can't afford to sink a bunch of money into it.

Hey Adam, I buy my blasting media at a local bulk supply business close to me (about the ONLY thing that I can find close to me!). They sell coal slag, Black Beauty, and glass beads. I can buy an 80# bag of the BB or coal slag for $8 and 50# of glass bead for about $6 in a variety of mesh size ...

Here's how I store mine. The picture in the manual shows the top on the passenger side, but I feel it's safer behind the driver since I don't carry the side curtains and don't have collapsible doors. On my Army 'a1 I have a fire extinguisher mounted on the driver fenderwell and a radio set on the ...

Oh yeah - I forgot about the wiring clips, no strainer supports, no place to secure the gas cap chain and pickup/sender holes oriented incorrectly. Oh, the drain plug was in the wrong place. Did the tanks actually come with an indent? I thought it was caused by the tank strap bending it.

But what ...

My seat was sitting directly on top of the tank. I think I ended up adding a couple of washers (shims) here and there to get a little clearance.

I just added turn signals to my USMC M38a1 using the parts Wes noted in the second post. I think the hardest part was modifying the light switch plug harness - adding the pigtail to the "J" pin on the plug and cutting/installing connectors to the 22 wire. I considered installing a makeshift civi ...

I just used the original strap with a longer bolt - nobody knows except you. I also used thin (1/8 - 3/16" maybe?) rubber strips under my tank. I had an early tank (from around 2012), so my filler neck doesn't fit great.

Re: Vehicle markings.

You mentioned Delta Team Decals. That's where I got mine and I just want to say that I highly recommend them. I made a mistake on my order and he went out of his way to help me get it corrected. A very good person to talk to.

Same here - always get my stencils from them. Also MUCH cheaper than ...
