fresh air intake louver (Hot Water Personnel Heater Kit)

Does anyone have a fresh air intake louver on their M38 jeep or in their parts collection? It would of come with the Hot Water personnel heater kit. Mounted passenger side outside near the axe sheath.

I have pictures from TB 9-2855-37 but would like the measurements to make one if possible ...

Thanks for the offer Rick but I found one on eBay really quick and cheap. Looks liked you introduced a relay into the system?

Have a great week.

WTB: Heater Motor Resistor Part# 8710856

I am in search of the resistor for the coolant heater blower. Most people recognize them from the M151 Hot Water Personal Heater Kits. They were used in all of the coolant heater kits though.

NSN 5905-00-777-8491

Typically Marked: 8710856 50 10% MEMCOR 8531 (sometimes 8217)

I see a ton of M38 & CJ3A windshields on craigslist constantly. Typically not too expensive and some have intact glass. I would hold off on yours and perhaps work on something else while you wait.

If you don't have a original tub like myself and it only came with four small holes for the gauge cluster panel. You can use a 'Rivnut". It's not correct but you can't see it either and worked perfect for installation. Use slotted screws of the same likeness as the OEM to keep it original looking ...

Anyone who wants to get a pair of those HELLA turn signals you should look for:

HELLA 2BA 001.227-201 This part number will get you a complete light assembly.

Don't use HELLA 9EL 074 484-011 as this is only for one lense and not a complete light.

Hoping my mistake will help others... :o)

The MT-299 are not rare. They come up for sale every now and then. They are desirable but are expensive to ship so that hurts the price. The radios are very common and don't command much $50-$100 each. I have seen the mounts go between $75-$300 around me.

I would be interested in the MT-299 ...

I know around me you can usually pick up used ones pretty cheap. It would still be a crab shoot. You might luck out or you might find yourself in the same dilemma. junk bearings... leaky old seals... 65 year old parts... =o/

Repair wouldn't be too bad if your doing it yourself. If you have to farm ...

Original drums did have this slot but new drums no longer have this machined slot in them. Not really a big deal and you can adjust them without.
