Thank you for your response Brian.

Sending unit screws in the block so grounding should be fine. When I measure the ohms on the sending unit I ground one lead to the engine block. That's when the new unit reads 163 ohms when cold and drops as the engine warms.

1952 M-38 Temp. Sending unit

Hi guys,

Had to replace my temp. sending unit ac-7389566 with NOS ac-1512245.
Gage= ac-1512422.

Gage reads 0 with new sending unit with engine hot.

Checked sending unit resistance according to troubleshooting instructions.
Reads 163 ohms when cold and drops when hot.
According to trouble shooting ...

I did check the toe in and the left tire is 1/8'' right is 2 1/2"
But the jeep pulls to the right. Should be pulling left with 2 1/2" toe in on the right.
There is a little play in the steering Wheel, but I believe not enough to cause a 2 1/2" toe In.
Tire pressure 25.
I removed the bearings ...

Excesive toe in

What could be the cause of excesive toe in on the right side tire (2 1/2 inch). Left is about 1/8 in.
There is no damage to the tie rod.
The jeep wants to turn right when I let the steering wheel go.
Problem has been getting worse.
There is excesive wear on the right side tire, left is fine.

I'm still having idle issues when the engine is hot. No backfire just dies. I installed rebuilt fuel pump(then & now), carter ys carb(debellas), new coil, condenser, rotor, points(.020)(Debellas). Throttle shaft is not worn or have exessive play. Rerouted fuel line to avoid vapor lock.

Used grease for the shaft and 3 in one for the felt. Gaped points .020, new rotor, condensor, points. Starts just fine now. Thank you Jesus :D
On to the next problem :?

Engine started to turn off when hot. started to hard crank again. Checked ignition coil and sure enough it was leaking oil. Ordered new coil, points, condenser, rotor from Debellas.
once installed the engine should run like new (hopefully) :D

Could I use motor oil to lubricate the felt on the ...
