M38A1 SPEEDOMETER

Is there a trick to installing the speedometer cable in the M38A1?

In order to reach the back of the gauge the cable has to make a very sharp bend when it comes out of the T90. I have broken two cables at this point and I am thinking that I am installing the cables improperly. How should I be ...

I needed the diameters on the tubing. The tubing I found was so thick that it wouldn't all fit at the Y junction. Thanks again!

M38A1 Wiper Motor Tubing Configuration

Anyone have photos of their wiper motors installed? I am finishing my windshield up and I am wondering what type of hosing everyone has used for the supply of their vacuum system. Then I want to try and get the new tubing running in all the right places, above, below, behind, etc. The original ...

M38A1 Vacuum/Fuel Pump Question

The mechanical vacuum/fuel pump in my 52 M38A1 is corroded and needs much TLC.

I have two questions.

The lower section of the pump contained a small amount of oil. Perhaps I have misunderstood something. I thought the vacuum system was dry. Is there supposed to be a lubricant in this system?

In ...

M38A1 UNIT/DIVISION QUESTION

All,

I own a 1952 USMC M38A1. Is there a resource that I can use to identify the unit or division my Jeep was attached to? I have the original data plate listing the serial number as 18690. During my sanding and repainting, I was unable to recover any unit markings. I am lucky enough to have ...
