I have 2 tubs that can be repaired (but lots of work though). I think at least for me it would be less work even if I have to cut and weld and move a few holes than to repair a ton of rust, just my thoughts though. I'd like to finish mine so my grandson can take it to his senior prom (he's 5). Keep ...

I agree, it's probably less work to repair that spot than to replace the entire panel. It also depends on what you're comfortable doing and what kind of tools you have access to. I'm
Only about 30 minutes away from you in Rochester MA. Good luck.

Just picked up an original Jeep service manual, covers CJ2-CJ5 , the images are so much better than photocopies. I have an M38 but enough in common to make it worth buying.

Make sure you have the right tap to clean out the threads, a pipe tap is tapered if you go
too deep the new fitting may not tighten up properly. Good luck

Oil pump ?

I'm rebuilding my M38 engine and I would like to know what is the safest way to deal with the oil pump ? I have 3 or 4 originals but I'm not sure if they are any good. Is there a way to check them off the engine , or does anyone sell a good one. I've seen NOS ones for sale but I'm a little leary.

I live in Mass. and just about everything we play with needs some rust repair. I've done my share of sheet metal fabrication and repair. A properly done repair can be both invisible and just as strong as original. I have no idea of your capabilities or equipment you have but try not to get in over ...

I'm going to paint mine grey and the raised areas and letters bright red, but I'll have to take the lifting ring off so you can see it. The seats and wheels are going to be lipstick red, everthing else original.

I picked up a supersonic head and I'm going to put it on my M38 (just because I think it's cool).
