Stop the press...

Seems the wires I have are NOT M38 so Bill is still on the hunt for some. Any idea what I do have here?

No worries and I don't take it personally. I will not post any more large linked images here.

1000's of photos posted on 1000's of forum posts and you are the first to mention the size. I personally find it handy to see the detail of a larger image plus being able to click on a photo linked to another site and see it even larger can also be useful. I think anyone who surfs the web with a ...

I thought of doing that but then it would be way too nice and out of place on this old bomber. :D

I have one more question. In your first pic it looks like the bottom
of the tub side is bent inward, right near where the bracket bolts.

Good eye. I just took another look and that area is pushed in quite a bit. I originally thought it was just "sculpted" that way as part of the tool indents ...

I spent a lot of time reading here prior to installing that bracket. Wes has pics and measurements posted and I went through all of Bretto's stuff - I thought I got it right.

I can't back off the nuts inside the tub much more as they are already flush with the ends of the bracket. If all else fails ...

M38 Axe

I received a set of pioneer tools today from a popular vendor. The shovel fits great but the axe....not so much. Can anyone tell from my pics where the problem lies? Is the axe wrong? Is the tub wrong? Is the axe handle bracket wrong?

100+ miles on the reassembly this week and so far so good. The overdrive shifts like delicious butter compared to the one on my 3A. Here's my 20 footer from 20'. Pic was taken Sunday in Old Town, ME just upstream from the original Old Town canoe factory.

I'm on the home stretch now. I won't be able to give it a proper shakedown run until spring but it runs great around the yard. Still need to figure out what I'm going to do for front turn signals.
