Solved. The clutch fork was not seated fully on the pivot ball. Once seated, I ended up having to go back to the original cable and rod. I adjusted to the 1 1/4" of play and all appears well.

Thanks for the help.

Wes:

1. I replaced the spring for good measure. It was identical to the spring taken out.

2. I couldn't tell. The old one was so bad that it fell apart during disassembly. I do not have it any more.

3. Yes.

4. No. The rod that was in it was shorter. I replaced it with a new longer rod, and ...

M38A1 throw out bearing won't stop riding the pressure plate

Frustration has set in. Clouds are darkening. I can feel an evil presence in my garage. I'm at my wits end.

I had a bad throw out bearing which is what started me down this path. I went ahead and had the Transmission and Transfer case rebuilt with the thought that I wanted to replace it all once ...

YS950 - Balance Vent - Can I plug it?

I recently rebuilt a YS950 and the Fuel Pump for an M38a1. I installed new fuel lines. I have not installed any of the vent lines. I'm curious if I can run the jeep like this for a bit while I source the remaining lines? If so, what do I need to plug?

Currently, I have left the two vent lines on ...

Busy couple weeks...not on the jeep though.

I was able to get the corner welded in and plan to get both fenders ready for final body work this week.

No progress on the fender, work is getting in the way.

I did, however, receive confirmation that my newly rebuilt fuel pump is on the way. There was an electric pump on the jeep and the original fuel pump was long gone.

I had some issues with my previous CJ2A carb and came across a guy named ...

So, I ended up repeating your story Bryan.

Yesterday I woke up and the eye was no better. I flushed it 2 times to no avail. I made an appointment with my optometrist and drove myself to his office.

The doc took one long look and I had a flake of metal embedded in my left eye. Out comes the drops ...

With a little action on the slave receptacle indent on ebay, I went to work on removing the old patch. Getting all the braise out is a bit tedious, but I'm glad it wasn't welded in. I was left with a fairly clean hole.

If you can get behind your sheetmetal go to the hardware store
and get a 1/2" copper pipe tee and beat it flat.

Put it behind where you are welding holes and hold or clamp it.
It will not stick to the mig and will keep you from blowing through.

Found that here and it works.

Good tip. I have a ...

While waiting for the plastic to cure on the passenger fender, I pulled the driver side off. I said earlier that I had decided to cover the corners with the overlay piece from Walcks. This is what the fender looked like before the torch.

Kendall - You're a kings king. Thank you much sir. I'll let you know how i make out.

I've decided to go ahead and cover up the diagonal seams on the fenders. Parts are on order.

I continued work on the passenger fender last night. Nothing truly interesting, just cutting out bad metal and welding ...
