Hi Tigger. On the dash sticker, the "DCPA" could refer to the Defense Civil Preparedness Agency, a short-lived replacement for the Office of Civil Defense. My quick internet search came up with dates of 1972-1979. After their military careers, many jeeps were passed along to other government ...

Hi Brian ! Thanks for the very helpful and interesting update. I ended up keeping the adjustable rig that came on my A1. Now, thanks to your research, I can even consider it a possible legitimate motor-pool mod. :D

Congratulations on finding your original hood numbers ! And multiple times too ! Most are not so fortunate. Mine is also in the "2A" series from 1955, with the number confirmed by some motor pool log book pages found in the glovebox when sold by the Army. Your engine number is also close to mine ...

My M100 is missing the box, so I can't confirm by actual inspection, but the April, 1972 manual I have seems to indicate four machine bolts, 1/4x28 UNF-2A, 1/2" long.

No, sorry Wes. I've only exchanged an email with the seller requesting pictures. Because
the asking price is a bit beyond what I'd offer, I didn't follow up on the details, and it's
about 150 miles from me, so I haven't been able to see it in person. If I do, you can be
sure I'll get all the data ...

M38 for sale (Craigslist / central Minn.)

This one isn't mine, but I always enjoy seeing another M38, and I thought I'd share the
craigslist link (no photos) and some photos the seller sent me. One small photo here,
and then (to save space on this site) links to the rest if you're interested.
