Hi Avenger3. I have the Solex M34PBIC carburetor in my 1961 M38A1. I had some time of struggle to start her when she was new to me a couple of years ago. After a while I learned for first cold start to use full choke, NO throttle at all, and then crank until she starts.

The former owner had ...

He is one of my A1-pals here in Sweden. If I remember correct his jeep originate from the Danish army and he has made great efforts for this snorkling ride.

The lake is actually an artificially made pond to be a reserve for the nereby electric power plant, so he knows about the depth.

It is still the same tank that we talked about some days ago. I am very pleased that you have found information about the manufacturer.
This tank was obviously manufactured in Oct 1964 withh the text on it as below.

About fuel tank text AGAIN

Hi again guys
I am still on with the the text on the fuel tank and my friend found the attached printed emblem on the tank. I suppose this is the emblem of the manufacturer and my interpretation is AOL Co. Does anyone have the knowledge what company this is.

Thanks Wes, I get new and important information every time I start a thread on this forum, which I appreciate very much, even if I read “between the lines” sometimes. It is not my intention to start anything inappropriate with my questions, only to gain more wisdom.

Hi guys.
Thank you for your engagement in trying to solve my question about the text on the fuel tank.
In no way it was my meaning to start a quarrel about AMC, it was my thought about the meaning and my lack of wisdom, My apologises for this.

I wish you all a happier 2021........

A very good remark Ron, maybe you are correct on this.
BUT, this contract was not for the US Army but for export to Saudi Arabia. Couldn't it be correct then to have the acronym of a sub-supplier marked on this item?

TANK
1 EA. A - 10/64
DA - 20 - 113 - AMC - 03275 - T
