Update

I decided to pull the plugs and check color after experiencing the lack of power on the top end and discovered that it's running way too lean with white tips. I installed the shortest metering rod (came with the NOS kit) and will see how that works on top end.

As none of the 3 metering rods I have ...

Thanks for the picture Wes. I suspect my kit will be here soon and will install it as per the TM. I took the rig out flower shopping with the Mrs for Mother's Day and towed the M100 Cdn along....yes she buys lots! Did 30+ trouble free miles for the record although it did seem to lack a little power ...

Wes - Roger that on the metering lengths, we'll see what the new MWM kit has in it for manufactured length. I'm hoping it comes with the diffuser base gasket and 2 thin gaskets...time will tell. And I will definitely go through your album, thanks

4x4M38 - Yes it is a YS637, albeit I believe an ...

Well I've had some success finally. I'm hoping this will get me moveable for the short term as I just ordered a new kit from Midwest Military.

Going through the TM was absolutely helpful in understanding the different circuit flows and cleaning (again and again) along the flow paths a few more ...

Hi Wes,
I did find your download and will dig into that in detail and redo the carb again.

Just to add to this conundrum, I took another old carb and while retaining all the old components and after giving it the same cleaning treatment, the jeep ran exactly the same. Is it possible for the fuel ...

M38Cdn Carb Dilemma

Thought I'd try this community to help troubleshoot my carb issues. Here's the situation:
1. Jeep wouldn't idle when coming out of hibernation but "ran when parked".
2. After talking to the PO, it was determined that the existing carb rebuild was over 10 years old but still worked OK last Fall.
3. I ...

Thanks Wes, I'll be sure to get those guides to print! And yes I did apply sealer to the two hex head screws already; and I see the full face gasket in that manual too! I'll go with the full face gasket I cut out.

Hi Wes, no I haven't but I did get the instructions from the Novak rebuild kit which helped out a ton as the pawls came apart also as I was getting things put back together. The inner roller bearings we're displaced when the shaft pulled aft and was why I couldn't get the shaft back in. I had to ...

Oops What have I done! T-90 Rear Bearing Came Out

After reading in the TM-8012 to ensure the rear bearing stays in the transmission housing while separating the units, this rig decided to be a bear and pulled the bearing along with the t-case. It was really stuck in the t-case housing! What kinds of problems am I up to now getting it set back into ...

The last M100 I bought had a spare tire mount made from a modified M38 Tire carrier. The basic idea was it hooked over the rear of the tub and was bolted there. It actually looked good and not ublike the jeep style. I have issues with pictures here but if you PM me your email or text number I'll ...

I should be able to do something with that Wes. General question, is the date on the US plate the manufacturer date or delivered date? It would be simpler if our plates only identified dates only to the month instead of actual delivery day.
