Interesting, all vehicles over 40 years old are exempt from a test on this side of the pond.
They still have to be road worthy if you get stopped for speeding::lol:

It has been a while to get a reply on this.
So after setting up the engine after a leaking manifold gasket I wanted to get a CO reading to make sure she was not lean at the top end of the revs.
So with the Weber carburettor fitted I got 2.70% Vol which is an MOT pass in the U.K.and a clean running ...

P.C.V Baffle
When I was setting the Tappits I noticed the ventilator parts did not have a Baffle on the body fitted to the side valve cover.
I checked TM9-1804A page 68and it does not show one.
Looking through the parts lists on a GPW it does show Baffle GPW 6762 WO-630298.

Painting the Block
I am in the process of fitting the exhaust Manifold.
I have cleaned off the old gasket ready to fit the new.
Do you paint the block under the gasket or around it?
Thanks.

Fitting exhaust Manifold
I know this has been done to death but after reading up a lot I still have a question.
When refitting the Manifold make sure both sides are flat,Head and Manifold.
Use new brass nuts,as the studs take a little brass each time used.
No locking washers.
Do not use Anti seize.
Use the two conical ...
