Are the new bumperetts being sold on eBay pretty much junk? Or are they serviceable?

Dupicolor primer and 8 pound sledge hammer. Got it!

I'll report back. Probably therapeutic after a challenging day at the office. :)

two questions:
1. what kind of primer do y'all use ...

Thank you for the posts

Really helpful inputs.

I'm slowly going through the jeep. Cleaned out the rear and removed the tailgate. Here are some pictures of the progress. Next is taking off the rollbar and all the brackets and footman loops on the tub before starting to fill holes, grinding flat and in general cleaning up ...

Information source for various M38 configurations

Greetings,

is there a source that has info on all the different M38s that were built?
I'm interested in what variations were produced, for ARmy, navy, air force, marines, military police, other variations?

Also, were there any M38s produced for the movie industry?

any help on any info I can get ...

Thank you for the reply Wes and Ryan.
I will get this edition and sign me up for the new edition when it comes out too.
Books like these are gems. In perpetuity. Thank you for taking the time to put it together.

And I know what you mean about kids. We all need to slow down and live a bit.

Thank you.
The first link says out of stock but a new edition is coming soon.
I posted because I wanted to see if there is a new edition coming and if so what the source is.
(I also googled and got those links but wasn’t sure if there is an official source to get the book from Ryan)

Thanks for the suggestion. sounds reasonable!

Also, is there a reason I want to left hand ones? is that how they came on the M38?

I do it a little different.

Here is the type of tailight you are looking for. And this offering is for two left hand ones.

Super helpful.

Thank you. I'm going to get bags, bins and sharpies, and clear out some shelf room in the garage and start taking things apart.

I'll also start sourcing some parts to replace the stuff that isnt an M38 as I go. I figure I can bag and tag parts and slowly sand blast, primer and paint ...

There, you now know you have an M38 frame! You already found out you had an M38 tub and Grill.

Thank you for helping me get started down this road. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. Have been wrenching on cars since 1988, but have never done a full restoration. I have also never done a soup ...
