Upon further inspection number 3 cylinder spark plug is wet with coolant and drops on valve.
Don't see any cracks .

Coolant in intake

Removed carb to be greeted with a puddle of coolant in intake.Ran fine 4 plus years ago sat in garage, ran extremely rough today. Thought carb was the problem.Was going to try carb off smooth running engine in other jeep, only to see coolant in intake. Suggestions as where to start trouble shooting ...

That's how I did mine,studs to guide it in place ,then put the bolts in ,then remove the studs, and put remaining bolts in

Bubba also did a few,I'm sure. Seen one on ebay, Bubba was real proud,claimed it improved the vehicle, and of course he wanted more money. It was not very pretty looking.

Ok,give me a couple of days,to get the picture thing figured out again. I also came out of retirement to volunteer on the historic train rides a couple of days a week, now they asked if I could do four or five. Fixing a 1940s train car is a little different than a 1950s jeep.

Do you want the top,ribbed part the door fits in? I have rusty tub with a top in good shape,no door. The sides have good metal 2 to 3 inches down,but the bottom and the bottom of the sides are swiss cheese.

I used a very small pipe wrench on my M38 when I was putting mine together. Worked quite well
