Hometown listed, good man.

Let me give you a piece of advice I bought the hard way. THROW NOTHING AWAY until you are dead certain it has no value. When I bought my 38a1, it had been modified for a CJ3 set of bows. It had doors, with old civilian covers that were not much but 100mph tape. I declared ...

Welcome:

You will find this a good place for learning and fellowship.

If I may make a suggestion, put your hometown on your profile. One of the other inmates here may be near to you and you not know it. Always good to have another pair of eyes and hands nearby.

The rebuilds were Forest Green, but with years of crud buildup, I could not tell semi gloss or lusterless FG. Thanks or the answer. The frame will be 2430, or at least 23070.

Thanks

Anyone near Adrian, MI?

Hello folks:

My preacher was recently bitten hard by the ODD bug. He has found a 38A1 in Adrian that is for sale, supposedly a runner. Is anyone in the area to give it a once over for him?

Thanks

If the dash panel is in good shape (bolt on, full width, left to right, do not need glove door or instrument panel, I could use it.

Where are you located?

Thank you

Brett:

I have one, complete, door covers as well. Shipping might be a bear from and to NC, but I would be willing to loan it to you for your project. Let me know.

Matt:

I saw your 53 at Denton, if it was across from the two guys with the 82d display in the woods. I didn't see anyone around it. I saw Cabel, Zane and Eddie. I gave Paul a call but didn't hear back. It was not a bad morning.

Try meeting up with Hams and have them help you out at a Hamfest. One of the guys who is knows in the community (like ours) will be able to guide you to good deals, ask the right questions before you plunk the cash down, and he may be able to work a better deal than you can get, just walking up ...

Wes, point taken.

Good to see you all again. Still slowly working on 38A1, in between children.

Or, possibly a number stamped on the top of the left frame rail near the motor mount bracket, if it is indeed a GPW

I made a tank out of the big plastic containers with a wire cage around it that chemicals come in. I cut the top off. I can get fairly sizable pieces in there. The pictures I saw above with rebar in 2x4's mounted give me an idea to improve mine. It does work well.

FWIW, I have a 1953 M38A1 that apparently went USMC in the late 50's. I found my apparent USMC hood number had been stenciled onto all five wheels. I wondered what that number was until the USMC history was revealed. I thank Wes for helping me connect the dots.
