FWIW ...I just replaced my filter with NOS...no fit problem...replaced the pickup gasket, their rubber only about 1/16" thick...sender gaskets are cork.

your aftermarket filter looks like its a 1/4" longer than the stock one in your old picture

well, I did make a mistake the number is 2920-358-7800-G513...I left off a 0 but, the G513 is correct

found some NOS springs in some M38 stuff I've had for years.. the packaging says; 2920-358-780-G513 Spring set Ignition Distributor Governor Weight

I looked up the NSN 2920 # and it comes up as a spring for a newer vehicle...they look the same as the ones ...

this picture is out of Wes' album m38 body...you can see the 4 locations for the straps...the loop in the strap goes to the outboard footman loops

there's no personal heater on the cowl on an m38a1, so, why would you need a safety hook anyway? the MWO for the m38 adds one...so could see that statement on an m38...

the 416b1 takes two longer footman loops for the gas cans...if that is what your looking for do google search fo M151 footman loops...

have you looked at the downloads section here ? page 2 has the trouble shooting section on gauges and senders...

you should check continuity on your wire harness and spider harness at the gauges.

drain your oil and filter, it'll be ok...you need to contact that dealer as you have a bad pump..diapram is shot causing the fuel in the oil
