Thanks Ron. I do feel embarrassed.
I wasn't measuring across the post.
The resistance is 12 ohms across the post of the one that I haven't put in the jeep yet to test.

The one I did install ran really good.

Wes, I have come to the conclusion that I am probably not measuring in the correct places on the coil for the primary. I tried following one of your photos of the coil for the measuring of the primary. I believe I am wrong.

I installed the coil in the Jeep distributor and the engine fired right up ...

Sorry it's taken me till now to reply.

I have an older model Fluke 8020B which has push buttons for the different modes and ranges. The 200 ohm range is the lowest range. A new 9v battery, I measure 35 ohms across a 33ohm resistor. 1% tol. I still could not measure any resistance on the primary ...

24volt Coils Again

I recently ordered and received 2 coils. 24 volt coils that are assumed to be the best after market coils today.
After receiving the coils I did a resistance check on them.
The primary windings I found had no resistance, Open circuit.
The secondary windings had 12.xk and 13.xk ohms

So with that, I ...

Installing a fuse in turn signal circuit

When I was restoring my M38 I installed the late style electronic turn signal controller.
Since then. I have ruined two controllers by accidently causing a short circuit of the 24 volts to ground either at the starter or on the fender mounted 24v receptacle. Getting older seems to cause me to be ...

Starter armature

I'm in the process of cleaning up a MCZ4001UT starter.

I've done a ohm reading check on the windings and checked for grounds. All appear to be good on that test. But I notice 5 places on the commutator where the wires connect to the copper part that the brush rides on (don't know it's proper name ...

Thank you both for the information. I have had the the antenna mounted to the M38 since restoration, but never acquired any military radios.

I don't know but I would imagine the transceiver had an internal tuner, or there was a external tuner and or a balun used with the antenna.

I was thinking ...

It was late in the day when I received the photo of the kit and they were closed for the week end. I will have to call back Monday and ask about the diaphragms.

I was wondering if maybe some one here on the forum has run into this in the past when they rebuilt their pump.

Then and now told me they didn't have info on these numbers 5592695 and 5592147.
I gave this number 1539917, and the lady I was talking with said it sounded more familiar. She gave me a price and for me to send a photo of the diaphragm pull rods for correct diaphragms to send in the kit.

She ...

I didn't know if they would be any additional help, Since they have the same prefix as the numbers 5592659 and 5592147.

I am surprised you were able to see all that from the box. Here is the close up of the box tag and the cover tag that was with it. Appreciate the help. I'm going to try my luck on rebuild and converting it. Oh, by the way the body already had valve and seals in it. But I don't know how good the ...
