Cleaning

Post by whydahdvr »

I live here in Massachusetts where we have a lot of sand in the soil. I'm looking for the best practices to cleaning the jeep after driving it around here. When it rains a lot of the sand in the soild collects in the puddles on the roads. I'm also going to be using the jeep on Martha's Vineyard in the summers and may drive on the beach (out of the water) up there, but live down a mile-long dirt road.
So what's the best way to maintain the jeep? I would presume washing it regularly with light soap and water and keeping it dry like any other vehicle. Other ideas? Thanks!

Washing with a mild soap and drying it should be fine. I don't think the sand will be a problem, but I would do the regualar maintinance per the TM's as anywhere else.

Thanks! I know they were built for off road use but with today's prices and parts availability I want to keep it as sharp as possible. It's going to spend most of the Summers on Martha's Vineyard too, down long dirt roads. Thanks for the input.
