So I'm closer to the point where my M38 will be on the road. We have run into a question though. The right rear black out light has three wires going into it but we aren't sure under what conditions or settings those lights come on. Are they designed to only come on when the black out lights are on - one for running light and the other for when the brakes are hit?
Additionally the gauges - the fuel and oil pressure gauge - do not seem to be working. The wires are all connected properly and they fluctuate a bit when tapped or when the gas is hit but they don't do anything more. The temp gauge also doesn't work but I think that's because the thermostat needs to be replaced.
Finally, the high-beam indicator light isn't working so I need to get new wiring (or something) for that.
This is for Wes: I checked under the hood on both sides of the hood hinge and there is not a serial number or anything stamped/marked there. So, that must mean it's either an original tub, a repro that didn't have those markings stamped in it, or a Canadian body. Who knows. It's a great jeep!
Any answers to the above questions? Should I just replace the gauges with new/repro one's?
One final item, it idles rough but we are tracking that down. Thanks all!
