New tech articles

Post by Ryan_Miller »

Hey,

I added a few new articles:

Electrical test kit manuals scanned by Wes

Leaf spring cleaning painting and how to take apart and put back together by one of our members David Field

I added some other stuff too, so take a look around.

Feel free to email me if you have something you want to add.

Ryan,
Do you have anything you could add under M38 Body Panels that relates to installing a replacement left rear wheel internal plate - the one that protects the trailer wiring harness and the brake light and wiring? Thanks!

Hey,

I put the electical test kit manuals on the first page of M38 electrical under "Electrical Test Kit Manuals". It is one PDF, but there are two manuals there.

On the passenger rear quarter panel bracing, I helped a friend replace one and have pictures for an article, but it is on the long list of things to do.

The basic premis was to find the spot welds, drill them out with a spot weld cutter and then weld in the replacemnt.
The M38 version is angled for clearance of the larger tires and the civilian one is straight. It was a lot of work, but worth it in the end.

The driver side panel is a square piece of sheetmetal that bolts in with1/4 20 lock washer bolts (same ones as used for the floor pan, hood latch and hinge, etc. etc.)
