fuel tank anti squeak

Are there any pictures showing how the 5 pieces of anti squeak were oriented under the fuel tank in the M38?

The question has been brought up in the past. I don't think there was a definate answer on where to lay them. But what I do recall was suggested was to make sure to place them so water could not get trapped.

If your tank is like mine and not perfectly flat on the bottom. I glued rubbers strips to the high spots and also on the front and rear edge. Does't raddle and there is no metal contact with the tank to the floor. I guess others could have done something different.

Ken has the right idea. I have never seen a gospel (as it left Willys) diagram for locating the strips. Just try your best to eliminate metal to metal contact and avoid layouts that trap water.

After you do this great job of avoiding metal to metal contact be sure to connect an alectrical ground lead from a sender mount screw to the tub or chassis.

I had some leftover material from an aftermarket pickup bed liner. It was about 3/16" thick and quite pliable. It worked out well for frame/body mounts and fuel tank cushions.
