Exhaust valve guides

I know I am a needy guy lately with all of my posts but I'm in the thick of it every night and keep running into stuff.

I tore apart the engine last night and I was quite relieved. The intake valves, guides, seats and lifters all fit well with very little wear. The pistons have little carbon on them, no ridge or rust line on the cylinders from sitting, the main bearings have the proper clearance (plasti gauge) as does the rod bearings. the internals of the engine seem as though it is a recent overhaul before being put up for 20ish years.
The bad part; the exhast valves themselves seem to seat ok but the guides have enough wear that the valve shifts when seating in the head. There is significant play in the guide to the valve unlike the intake.
Are there any pointers on replacing the guides? Handy tools to have?
Is this the weak link on the motor?

Nothing special. Just follow the engine manual. Try to use the civvy jeep manual or the industrial engine manual as sources for expanded info. The guides are still readily available and in most engines the exhaust guides are usually the first to go. I assume you have the engine out of the chassis. The seats will have to be redone after the guides and valves and you may want to consider the hardened exhaust valve replacement seats and steelite exhaust valves.
