Crush a Flat-Head No Way!
My son and I were out in his 46 cruising through some trails when we came across a huge amount of machinery. As we were looking around there was an older gentlemen that pulled up explaining that this was his property and that the local car crusher outfit was coming out tomorrow to pick up the scrap steel. We asked if we could look around and was very excited that he said help yourself with anything you find. We came across a compressor that had a flat head motor. Judging by the way it looked we felt it had recently was running. We asked if we could buy it from him but he said take it it was his brothers who had passed away a few years back. Hot #@$%@ we were happy! took it home not really understanding how a four cylinder could run off two plugs? The center two spots on the head had a pipe coming out tht produced air! well we got it home and removed the head only to find that the two center piston walls were shiny but the outer two were not as good. Out delima is the four spots where the valves come out of the block have caps in them. how do we remove them? thanks everyone for your time in reading this. Have a good day! Oh before I forget does anyone have a need for any Ford script parts, no engine, I gave it to a friend of the family!
