To remove the spark plug wires from the M38 distributor,
do I unscrew the nut AT the distributor OR the nut where
the wire bends to go to it through the metal tube?
I'm replacing the condenser.

To replace the condenser you leave the wires alone and remove the 6 cap screws and lift the cap up with the wires attached and move or tie it out of your way.
To remove a spark plug lead for repair or replacement you screw it out of the cap.
