Markings

I am looking for info on the markings I have ,have found on the Rt front and Lf rear of my M38. On Rt front the orig markings are 76X the LF front was not readable. The markings on the LF front now, are the grand kids first letters and date of completeion. Any help on the 76X numbers would be helpful.
