M-38 Fuel tank

The P.O. cut the tank hold down clip off the top-rear faceing side of the tank. Does anyone have any tips on welding it back to the tank. Thanks Gene

the best tip to give is make sure you wash all the gas and fumes out of it before any welding attempt is made. Make sure area is shinny and clean and spot weld you a new one on there, Id use a sealer coat such as por-15 gas tank sealer over it after im finished welding before I prime and paint it , to make sure its nice and sealed.
