Looking for any info on the paint code or color for my restoration project of a 1955 m38a1 shore patrol jeep... I am doing a complete restoration and am in need of the body color... :D :?:

If you're going with shore patrol I would assume you're also going Navy which would make it Gray.

Shouldn't it be called "Battleship Gray?" Also, was this color flat, or semi-gloss?

I don't have my notes here. Everyone likes to call it Battleship gray unless they served on a CV or DD then they probably call it carrier gray or destroyer gray. I believe the federal standard has a slightly different name. I also believe it was semi-gloss.
